About
Anastasia K. is a Rotterdam-based figurative painter working primarily in oil
on canvas. Her practice explores portraiture as a space where identity, memory and perception remain
in constant negotiation. Rather than presenting the face as a fixed representation, she uses subtle
distortions of light, reflection and composition to reveal its emotional and psychological
complexity.
Shaped by her experience of migration and living between cultures, her work examines belonging,
displacement and human connection. Balancing technical precision with psychological tension, her
paintings invite viewers to question not only what they see, but also how identity is formed and
perceived.
